What BigVelo uses on your devices
BigVelo does not require an account. Ride data is stored on your devices with SwiftData. We do not run a BigVelo cloud of your routes.
- Location. Used to record the ride, draw the map, plan Ride To routes, detect climbs, and stamp weather to where you actually are. Recording needs location while you ride.
- Motion and fitness / HealthKit. Heart rate from Apple Watch (or a paired source Health provides). Optional export of a finished ride as a workout. We do not write heart rate to anyone but Health, on your say-so.
- Bluetooth. Used to talk to a Garmin Varia™-compatible rear radar. Vehicle tracks stay on the phone for the live tape and the ride story.
- WeatherKit. Current conditions and forecast for the chip and the sheet. Apple’s weather attribution is shown in the app as required.
- StoreKit. Monthly, yearly, and lifetime purchases go through Apple. We never see your card. Entitlement is what Apple tells the app you own.
What we do not collect
No BigVelo login. No advertising identifier harvested for ads. No sale of ride data. Backups you export are files you choose to save or share. GPX export is a file you choose to share.
Trial and purchases
Thirty days from first launch on a device are the whole product. After that, recording and live sensors require an active monthly or yearly subscription, or the lifetime purchase, through the App Store. History, saved routes and export do not read that lock. Restore and redeem codes are Apple’s flows.
Analytics and crash data
If Apple delivers crash logs through standard App Store / Xcode channels, we may use them to fix bugs. We do not run a third-party ad or marketing pixel on this site beyond what your browser sends to load the page.
This website
bigvelo.web.app is a static marketing site. It does not set an account cookie. Hosting is Firebase Hosting. Your browser will request fonts from Google Fonts.
Children
BigVelo is not directed at children under 13. Do not use it to collect a child’s data.
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will update the date above and, when the app is the right place, the in-app Privacy link.
